Subscribing to Google Calendar updates

To get immediate alerts about changes to training and games, consider subscribing to the Google Calendar for updates by email or text message. If you haven’t done so already, you’ll first need to add the Google Calendar to your Google Account.

Here’s how to get notifications of added, changed, and deleted events:

Go to https://www.google.com/calendar and follow the steps below.

  1. Select the calendar you want and use the drop down arrow
  2. Select “Reminders and notifications”
  3. Choose email or SMS (text message)
  4. Save your settings.

Select calendar and notifications

Select the calendar and used the drop down arrow to access the notifications screen.

Choose the types of notifications you'd like to receive.

When going to google calendar, under My Calendars, my daughter’s current team is not an option for me to choose. What do I need to do to make it become an option. Is there a link or something per team?

Hi Malia. You probably haven’t added the team calendar to your calendar. Here’s how to do that.

    1. Click on the link to the specific team calendar you want. (Girls ’03 is here: https://goo.gl/mmThuh)
    2. Click on “+Google Calendar” in the bottom right corner
    That’s it!

We have a post about this topic here: http://cincysc.com/adding-a-calendar/

There may be other steps to add it to an app on your phone. We have a post about that too (if you need to, just use the search on our website and you should be able to find it).

This is crazy difficult and unclear… just FYI. Nearly impossible to add to iCal.

There is nowhere I can find to add or edit notifications.

Each Google calendar has an iCal link. If you click on the +Google Calendar to add it to your account you can then look at the settings and get the iCal link. Or just ask me and I can tell you the iCal link for any of the team calendars. Hope this helps.

Once you’ve added the calendar (+Google Calendar link in the bottom right), you can create event notifications. Here’s a video that might help: https://binged.it/2mafovm
