Ben Yauss has helped us design a simple soccer-specific system to measure each player’s speed, strength, agility, flexibility, and endurance. The circuit includes:
- A sprint
- A broad jump
- A shuttle run
- A squat & hurdle movement
- A 300 meter run
Performance testing for most of our athletes occurred during the week of training camp. Those who missed camp will be tested on Friday 9/11/15.
Though somewhat time consuming for our players and coaches, completing these tests and capturing the data will allow our club to measure each player’s performance gain over time as well as how their performance compares to their peer group. We’ve compiled the data and we’re planning to start sharing the results the week of 9/6.
